About the Jazz Club of Sarasota:
The Jazz Club of Sarasota, one of the largest and most active jazz clubs in the United States, is dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz, America’s original musical art form. Founded in 1980 by the late Hal Davis, the former publicist for Benny Goodman, the Jazz Club has approximately 600 members and is growing. The Club presents over 50 events throughout the year, including the Annual Sarasota Jazz Festival, for over 35 years, which is one of the major US jazz festivals. Every year, the Jazz Club of Sarasota grants scholarships to high school and college students who are serious about continuing their jazz education.
